Earth Day Event "Solar Powered Whoop House of Music"

As we approach Earth Day, Manistique Community Treehouse Center (MCTC) is excited to announce our partnership with the Charles H. Wright Museum and artist Ash Arder for an event featuring her "Whoop House" solar-powered sound structure . The structure is designed to record and play back the instruments and voices of community members.

Our partnership with Charles H. Wright and Ash Arder began in 2018 with the Shine A Light project. That is now the outdoor movie theater/emergency power station at the Creative Empowerment Garden. The community can plug up their phones and medical emergency devices in case the power goes out.

Charles H. Wright and Ash Arder both knew MCTC's mission for solar power in our community, and they support us with the installation of the Outdoor Movie Theater/Emergency Power Station. The MCTC Solar Power Community Installation by Charles H Wright Museum is the first by the Museum of a solar power structure in the community and we are grateful in the support of our mission in the community.

We invite you to join us on Earth Day, April 30th, starting at 4 pm. The agenda for the event is as follows:

4:00 pm: Welcome by Tammy Black

4:30 pm: Bee and Pollution presentation by Detroit Hives

5:00 pm: Solar projects/flood app/solar job training by Harold Wilcox

5:30 pm: Emergency power station presentation by Mose Primus

6:00 pm: Rooftop solar installations by Marva Stewart

6:30 pm: Video package plays

8:00 pm: Event ends

We look forward to celebrating Earth Day with you and showcasing the benefits of solar power in our community in Artist form.

Best regards,

MCTC
