Welcome to The Manistique
Community Treehouse Center
Recently awarded a National Treasure status, Jefferson Chalmers is a neighborhood located on the south eastside of Detroit. Here we are building something unique that reflects the community's future.
With the donation of labor from our neighbor and project partners, we are raising the cost of materials for our incredible vision of a safe space for our children to grow.
The Manistique Treehouse project will be a 700 square foot ADA wheelchair accessible six sided building. Ramps and platforms will lead from the sidewalk up to the structure and surrounding decks. The structure will be 10 feet off of the ground. Nestled between a beautiful Maple tree and a stellar Cottonwood. Totally powered by solar energy. This will be an active community-run center for occupational therapy and education. Special programs and activities will be offered for children and teens, between the ages of 5 - 18, including children living with developmental and learning disabilities. Programming and activities will be both one-on-one and in groups. In addition to our programs we will also focus on improving concentration, health and wellness, improving/restoring confidence, setting ambitions, and building social skills. We will also offer career support for individuals with learning disabilities between the ages of 19 - 30+ with their career goals and job skills. Often these individuals are forgotten after the age of 18, but they are still in need of help. The Manistique Treehouse will truly be an oasis for nurturing and growth, where the community can connect with nature and one another. We also, offer therapeutic services for families, seniors and veterans. The Manistique Treehouse will focus on programs that help individuals to gain positive well-being.

Our mission extends beyond to encompass financial literacy for wealth building.
CTCD actively contributes to the renewable energy sector by spearheading the training of a skilled and diverse workforce. We emphasize sustainability, recognizing the importance of making a positive impact on the environment through our training programs. Inclusivity is a core value, and we ensure the active involvement of people with disabilities in the transformative renewable energy industry.
Guided by principles of sustainability, leadership, growth, healing, and abundance, CTCD strives to lead communities with love and collaborative efforts. Our dedication to inclusivity extends to addressing the critical issue of affordable housing for people with disabilities in low-income communities. We initiate housing solutions tailored to unique needs, addressing challenges individuals face in finding suitable living arrangements.
